Data Protection

FRÖBEL takes the protection of personal data very seriously, which is why we would like to inform you about our data privacy statement. Here you will find information about how we collect and use personal data when our website is used. In doing so we follow data privacy laws applicable to Germany. You can read this statement on our website at any time.

We explicitly point out that the transfer of data via the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may involve security gaps and cannot be fully protected from access by third parties (see also under “E-mails”).

Use of the contact details in the “Legal” section of our website for commercial advertising purposes is explicitly not desired, unless our written consent has been issued previously or a business relationship has already been established. The provider and all persons named on this website hereby object to any commercial use and disclosure of their data.

Personal data

Personal data are particulars about personal or material relationships of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as the person’s real name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Information which cannot be directly connected with the person’s true identity – such as bookmarked websites or the number of users of a site – are not personal data.

You can access our website without providing any personal data. If personal data (such as a person’s name, address or e-mail address) is collected on our site, this will take place wherever possible on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. In the event that a contractual relationship between you and us is to be established, amended or developed in terms of content, or you make a request to us, we will collect and use your personal data to the extent that this is required to fulfil these purposes (inventory data). We will collect, process and use your personal data to the extent that this is required to enable you to make use of the website (usage data). Any personal data will be stored only for as long as is necessary for the aforementioned purpose (processing your request or performing a contract). In so doing, we will take into account record retention periods under fiscal and commercial law. By order of the competent authorities, we will be permitted in an individual case to provide information on this data (inventory data) if this is necessary to carry out prosecution proceedings, to protect against threats to public safety, to fulfil the statutory tasks of the constitution protection authorities or the Military Counter-Intelligence Service, or to enforce intellectual property rights.

The following data will be collected:

the page from which the file was requested,
the name of the file accessed,
the date and time of the request,
the quantity of data transferred,
the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.),
a description of the type of browser or operating system used,
the anonymized IP address of the requesting computer,
the referrer URL (the page last visited).

Personal data such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address will not be collected unless you provide this data voluntarily, e.g. while registering, taking a survey, entering a competition, submitting an application, performing a contract or making a request for information.

Analytical tool Piwik:
This website uses Piwik, a website analytical tool.  Piwik uses so-called “cookies”: text files which are saved onto your computer and which make it possible to analyze your use of the website. For this purpose, the usage information generated by the cookie (including your abbreviated IP address) is transmitted to our server and stored for purposes of analysis purposes, which is used by our website optimization. Your IP address will be anonymized immediately so that you remain anonymous to us as a user. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will not be passed on to third parties. You may prevent the use of cookies by setting your browser software, but you may not be able to fully utilize all of the features of this website.

We have activated IP address anonymization, which means that within the member states of the European Union, or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area, your IP address on this website will have been abbreviated.

If you do not agree to the storage and evaluation of this data from your visit, you can always object to the storage and use at the click of a mouse. In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie is stored in your browser, which means that Piwik does not collect any session data. Attention: If you delete your cookies, this also means that the opt-out cookie is also deleted and, if necessary, you must be activated again.

Please click this link designed specifically for browsers on mobile devices to prevent Piwik from collecting anonymized data in future on our website with the aid of so-called “opt-out cookies” for your browser:

» deactivate Piwik

In view of the discussion on the use of analytical tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that our website uses Piwik with the configuration “AnonymizeIP”, and therefore IP addresses are only processed further in abbreviated form to prevent them being directly linked to a particular individual.

Please note that any content you send to us by e-mail (e.g. over our Internet mailbox) will be transmitted in unencrypted form. Therefore the security of sensitive data and content against unauthorized disclosure and corruption cannot be guaranteed via this means of transmission.

If you send us an unsolicited electronic application, we will only save the data contained in it for the purpose of reviewing your application. If your application cannot be taken into consideration, we will delete this data by default.

Use and disclosure of personal data

We use the personal data you provide exclusively for the technical administration of our website and to fulfil your requests and demands, normally to perform a contract agreed with you or to respond to your request.

We will also only use this data for product-related surveys and marketing purposes if you have given us prior consent or if you – as far as statutory regulations allow – have not filed an objection.

If transferring personal data to an external service provider is necessary to provide a service or process a request, we will ensure compliance with legal provisions on data protection as defined by § 11 BDSG by taking technical and organizational measures. In addition, FRÖBEL obligates external service providers to comply with the relevant legal provisions on data protection, to treat personal data confidentially and, as soon as it is no longer required, to delete personal data immediately.

Children’s personal data

Due to the importance of protecting children’s privacy, we do not wish to collect, process or use personal data from persons under the age of 18 years old. If as a parent or legal guardian you discover that your children have provided their personal data to us, you can get in touch with us using the contact details in the “Legal” section of our website if you want the data to be deleted.

Use of cookies

We normally do not use cookies on our websites. Only in exceptional circumstances do we use so-called “session cookies”, which archive data in your browser’s memory for the purposes of technical session control. This data is not personal and is deleted, at the latest, when you close your browser.

If as an exception we have to save personal data in a cookie, we will ask for your express permission first. We would also like to point out that browsers usually have functions for managing cookies.

Right to information

We are happy to inform you of any data saved about you (e.g. name, address) upon written request. You have the right at any time to withhold your consent to use any personal data you have provided with effect for the future. For more information please contact the provider stated in the contact details in the “Legal” section of our website.

FRÖBEL takes all the necessary technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against loss and misuse. Your data is saved in a secure operating environment, which is not accessible to the general public. If you would like to get in touch with FRÖBEL by e-mail, please note that we cannot guarantee the complete security of your data. We therefore recommend sending confidential information by post.
